Ever wondered what it would be like to teleport into the Lumon offices? I did—virtually, thanks to the power of AI. But as the hours ticked, I discovered that the job awaiting me was far more sinister than I could have imagined. Inspired by Severance on Apple TV, I created "Semblance", a fan-made AI experiment directed (and starred) by “myself” (or my AI clone).

This wasn’t just for fun (though it was fun). I wanted to push the limits and test Hailuo MiniMax’s new Subject Reference feature, and wow, it delivered! 🤯 With only ONE simple frontal photo of me, the model nailed my rebellious haircut, every stray white hair, my under-eye bags (a badge of honor from sleepless AI testing), and even my regrettable and bad posture. At this point, AI might know me better than I do. While working on this short the results left me really wondering: is reality just a mix of math, algorithms, and probabilities? How the model was able to perfectly simulate my other traits based only in onesimple image?
